'one of the best players in the world'already agreed move to the Spanish capital

April,16,09

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon claims that 'one of the best players in the world' has already agreed to move to the Spanish capital. Calderon was deposed earlier in the season, but still believes that an agreement is in place with the mystery player. Florentino Perez is expected to win the summer elections, and if Calderon's claims are true he could ride back into the job on a wave of publicity and popularity, without having to lift a finger. Calderon reportedly told RMC, a French radio station: "Anyone who becomes the next president will have at his disposal one of the best players in the world, who is already formally committed to Real Madrid," Calderón said. "I cannot give any names, but all I can say is that thanks to the difficult and laborious work that I did last year, he is already formally a Madrid player, subject obviously to him being able to sign the relevant contract." Calderon did not mention any names, but it's probably fair to say we all know who he was talking about.

Arsenal VS Villarreal

Result:

Arsenal:3 ,Villareal:0
Arsenal produced a dominant attacking display to beat 10-man Villarreal and set up a Champions League semi-final showdown with Manchester United. Theo Walcott scored the first goal, collecting a Cesc Fabregas flick before running clear and chipping in. Emmanuel Adebayor put the hosts firmly in charge, producing a neat finish with the outside of his right foot. Sebastian Eguren was then sent off for disputing an Arsenal penalty that Robin van Persie scored to seal the victory.

Chelsea Goalkeeper ADMITS POOR FORM

April,15,09 Petr Cech has admitted that he is in the worst form of his Chelsea career but insists that dropping him is not the answer. The Czech stopper has shipped seven goals in two games and has looked far from the player of three seasons ago. He was made to look silly by Fabio Aurelio's opener in Chelsea's epic 4-4 draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. But with Carlo Cudicini now a Tottenham player, the only other goalkeeping option open to Guus Hiddink is Hilario. "I would be disappointed to be left out against Arsenal. Who wouldn't be? This is a question for the manager, but one bad goal can't change what you have been doing all season," said Cech. "You have to show your confidence in training and in games. "If you go to speak to the manager, you can say whatever you want, but he needs to see your answers on the pitch, not in his office. In any case, I am sure we won't defend as badly again on Saturday. "It is the first time in my Chelsea career that I have conceded so many goals in two consecutive games, and the first time I have made mistakes in both of them." Hiddink admitted that Cech is going through a crisis of confidence, saying: "He is a very intelligent and self-critical goalkeeper. "He was not happy with his performance against Bolton although there was always a sequence of errors before he came into action. But he is very critical of his own performance even when he has had an almost perfect game. "There were some things tonight where you could see he was not full of confidence. I think a goalkeeper once in a while has a right not to have a big performance. "But he will stay a very good goalkeeper, every person sometimes has this small period of not being on top form. If a player is playing a lesser game now and then, it is not always the reason to make a substitution."
