Three wins from their last three matches coupled with a drop in form for United has seen Liverpool close down the gap at the top of the table to just one point and though United still have a game in hand, Liverpool fans will be optimistic that their side will be able to finally travel the distance and win their first league title in nearly two decades.
With United not playing until Sunday, a win for Liverpool against Fulham could see them reclaim their position at the top of the league table and increase the pressure on their title rivals who will be facing an Aston Villa side determined to bounce back from a string of poor performances.
Manager Rafa Benitez will hope his side can build on their recent form, which saw them beat Aston Villa 5-0 before the clubs went on an international break. Steven Gerrard was the hero in that game scoring a hat-trick.
Fulham on the other hand will be looking to repeat their excellent performance from the last game and pull off another upset on Saturday as they look consolidate on their position in the top half of the league table.
The Cottagers put up a brilliant display to first negate United's attacking threat before scoring two goals of their own to win their first ever match against the defending champions in five years.
However Roy Hodgson's side will have to be wary of the attacking threat posed by Liverpool who have scored 13 goals in their last three matches and with Steven Gerrard continuing his excellent for even on the international stage, the Fulham defense are expected to struggle against their opponents on Saturday.
