The Red Devils staged an amazing comeback in their last match against Aston Villa to break a two match losing streak. Having taken an early lead in the first half, United looked to have once again thrown away a match as Villa first equalized through John Carew before Gabriel Agbonlahor put them in front midway through the second half.The defending champions pressed ahead and equalized in the 80th minutes through Cristiano Ronaldo before a stunning strike from Federico Macheda wrapped up all the points in injury time.
Manager Alex Ferguson will be hoping that his side will be able to build on the victory and return back to form as he attempts to win his third straight Premier League title.
Sunderland on the other hand will be hoping to avoid a fourth defeat in a row on Saturday with the club still embroiled in a relegation battle. The Black Cats are just three points above the relegation zone and manager Ricky Sbragia will be hoping that his side will be able to collect the required number of points and avoid getting relegated come the end of the season.United will be without Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans with both the defenders out of action with injuries but will be able to welcome Nemanja Vidic who was suspended for the game against Aston Villa. There are some doubts over the availability of George McCartney for Sunderland with the defender yet to recover from a calf injury.
